CAMEX Iasi: 18-21 March

The Do-It-Yourself Trade Fair, the first fair in Romania dedicated to the ”do-it-yourself” market will take place in Targu Mures (11-14 June), Sibiu (18-21 June), Oradea (17-20 September) and Galati (22-25 October).

The event is addressed to workers in constructions, physical persons with intentions of making construction investments: renovations, arrangements, house constructions as well as to people passionate about "do it yourself" housework.

The contractors are important factors that influence the final beneficiaries in choosing the materials. The event brings into attention the contractor, representing from this point of view a premiere for the fairs&exhibitions market. ABplus Events succeeds in this way to define and clearly differentiate these events dedicated to the final consumers from the B2B events organized in Iasi, Brasov, Timisoara, Cluj Napoca, Constanta and Bucharest, all of them being under CAMEX umbrella, events for the construction industry.

The Do-It-Yourself Trade Fair is a festivity that combines the fair with sale and the demonstrations with entertaining activities: contests, award tombolas, outdoor activities. The event is developed around 3 important areas: the area of exhibition stands, the area of demonstrations and the area of outdoor activities (contests, catering, artistic moments) and will have a specific in each of the 4 cities where it is being organized. The demonstrations are related to recently appeared construction materials as well as to modern work techniques. The contests and competitions on professions will involve roof assemblers, joinery manufacturers, wall and gypsum-cardboard mounters, masons, stonemasons, plasterers, painters, wall papering workers, tessellators, potters, parqueters and not only.

The first edition of the Do-It-Yourself Trade Fair takes place in Targu Mures at the Medieval Fortress, during 11-14 June and is accompanied by a gift, the companies benefiting from 20% discount for the contracted exhibition space.

Built in the 17th century, the Medieval Fortress in Targu Mures was raised in the place of the castle-fortress that once belonged to Báthori István, the Transilvanean leader in 1492. The Fortress has seven bastions,  five of them carrying the name of the professional communities that, according to  the tradition, maintained them: the bastion of the shoemakers, the locksmiths, the coopers, the tailors and the butchers. In 1657, 434 local constructors made the arrangement works inside the premises of the fortress. The activity of the professional communities extended by the middle of the 19th century. The Do-It-Yourself Trade Fair revives the tradition in Targu Mures and brings together  the contractors from our days in the Fortress of the contractors of the past.
