In 2001 CAMEX was organized for the first time in Timisoara.
In 2010 CAMEX National Exhibition of Constructions and Installations is celebrating 10 years. We will celebrate 10 years of CAMEX tradition, 10 years of promoting excellence in constructions in Banat region, 10 years since Timisoara, the most western Romanian city, has become the meeting place of constructors all over the country.
It has become a tradition for the constructors to establish a meeting in Banat at the end of each year. According to the statement of the Mayor of Timisoara, Gheorghe Ciuhandu, at the Official Opening of the event, “CAMEX has become a constant presence in Timisoara and in its exhibition calendar, proving to be a reliable partner due to its seriousness, dedication and professionalism”. These 10 years of CAMEX Timisoara have a great importance for the construction industry in Banat region.
In 2000, following a large public-private partnership was defined and established the Concept for Economic and Social Development of Timisoara Region, which takes into consideration the sustainable development of this area by implementing state-of-the-art technologies in all fields of the economy. The existence of a correct and coherent development concept has nurtured the trust of foreign investors related to the local business environment, having as a result the increase of the foreign investment volume.
At present, Timisoara is placed on the second position, following Bucharest, in terms of total volume of attracted foreign investments, the value per capita being 5 times higher than the national average. Large companies in the high-tech production or software development sector were successfully relocated in Timisoara. Their presence triggered the local development as they also attracted providers and subcontractors. Important international companies such as Continental AG, Solectron, Siemens, Lisa Draxelmaier, Kromberg & Schubert and others have developed here large, modernly equipped investments.
Today, Timisoara is recognized both nationally and internationally as being a successful model for local economic development.
Moreover, Timisoara is also seen as a bridge between Romania and the Occident. Its strategic position to Hungary and Serbia makes Timisoara a highly sought-after city by investors, companies and businessmen from both Romania and abroad.
CAMEX Exhibition in Timisoara is a great opportunity for them to test the market and interact with both specialists and the large public from Banat and Crisana regions and also from Hungary and Serbia.
